The annual Strawberry Festival at St. Philips Church in Laurel has become a beloved tradition in the town over the years. This year, the Laurel Historical Society celebrated the day by hosting a number of wonderful events throughout the town. The Cook House featured a number of new exhibits created by society members, including former President Norma Jean Fowler. After many years of being closed the public, the Society also opened the doors of the Laurel Train Station. The Society is currently working in conjunction with the Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs to turn the station into a museum. Featured at the station that day were paintings by the late and beloved Laurel Pediatrician Dr. Harold Williams. The Society wishes to thank the family of Dr. Williams for allowing us to feature the paintings during the day.
